What are the Malta Business Awards? 

More than 300 applications were received across four categories: Social Impact, Green Initiatives, Best in Business and Innovation, and Digitalization. After weeks of waiting, the night was finally here for 110 shortlisted applicants. Their applications were judged under scrutiny by an independent panel who made them all strive to be better than ever before in order not just survive but thrive!

Keith Demicoli, in his lavish gala ceremony hosted an evening for all finalists and VIP guests. 600 people attended including winners from each category as well! The fun began with the award presentations where they received certificates commemorate their achievement along with the first/second place mementos made up 100% recycled materials making it both sustainable and eco-friendly.

Lottoland among top contenders

Lottoland won three categories at this year's awards, including first place in two different competitions including the Exceptional Wellbeing at the Workplace and Carbon Neutral Commitment categories.

They were also runners up for Best CSR Initiative and Carbon Neutral Commitment. Last year Lottoland, was the first iGaming company to achieve a carbon neutral status. So far, Lottoland has planted over 2 million trees worldwide including 1 thousand that will be grown right here on Malta together with local NGO Saġar.

The company has recently set up a foundation to make an everlasting positive contribution in all the communities it operates within and is expected to renew its partnership with Nature Trust Malta’s Wildlife Rescue Team soon.

Ira Losco, Lottoland’s ambassador for Malta stated, “We believe in making Lottoland an ambitious organisation that puts great dreams at the heart of its actions. Working alongside our Maltese customers, we are taking decisive action to create a better world that enables people, animals and the environment to flourish.”

Miriam Dalli, Minister for the Environment, Energy and Enterprise further added, “This moment should serve as inspiration for enterprises to be more sustainable, digital, catering for their client’s needs, offering good quality products whilst also ensuring competitiveness. The Malta Business Awards serve as a means to learn from each other’s success stories, as well as for enterprises themselves to define the next steps to improve their processes.”
